I was inspired to paint this as I was thinking of the approaching winter here in the midwest. Most people regret the approach of gray days - but as an artist I welcome the reprieve from all the green. This was from a picture taken on a sunny afternoon walk, back into the woods behind our house in the cabin. There is something so refreshing and comforting about the beauty and the quiet here. It draws me to just remain there for a while and thank the one who created all this.
